🇬🇧Meet Réka — the Newest Addition to IDA NexGen

We’re thrilled to welcome Réka “kim” to IDA NexGen, joining our roster as we continue to build one of Europe’s most promising female Counter-Strike teams.

Born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, the 23-year-old AWPer brings both skill and passion to the squad. While currently studying Community Coordination at university, Réka’s true drive has always been in esports and travel — two worlds that perfectly combine her love for competition and connection.

A journey sparked by family — and a Major moment

Réka’s story with Counter-Strike began nearly a decade ago.

“Both of my brothers are gamers, and one of them just randomly came into my room in 2014 and bought me CS:GO,” she recalls.

A year later, a friend introduced her to professional Counter-Strike through the Cluj-Napoca Major, and the highlights of KennyS left a lasting mark.

“That’s when I decided one day I was going to become a professional player.”

That spark turned into a mission — and over the past three years, Réka has worked tirelessly to make her dream a reality.

“Positive vibes” and a professional setup

Joining IDA NexGen marks a major step forward in Réka’s career.

“It’s something I’ve always dreamed about, and been working toward for the past three years,” she says. “I’m grateful for this opportunity and to prove that I can bring something valuable to the team.”

Her first impression of the group?

“Positive vibes! It’s important to me to have a good atmosphere where we can have fun and joke around while still focusing on our goals.”

A fearless and vocal AWPer

Known for her aggressive and vocal playstyle, Réka brings both energy and communication to the server. Her confidence behind the AWP and her willingness to take initiative make her a key piece of the team’s new direction.

“Learn, improve, win,” she says simply when asked about her goals for the upcoming season — a fitting mantra for a player eager to grow and lead by example.

Representing women in esports

For Réka, playing on a professional women’s roster is more than just competition — it’s about representation and inspiration.

“It’s an honor to represent women in CS. I’ve been working with both men and women in teams, and I want to prove that talent and hard work matter more than gender.”

She hopes her journey can motivate others to believe in their potential:

“Hopefully I can inspire more players to believe they can reach their goals.”

What to expect next

Fans can look forward to seeing more of Réka both in and out of the server.

“I’d like to be active on socials — share updates, funny moments, highlights, and stream when I can,” she says. “From the team, expect exciting matches and wins, hopefully!”

Welcome to the family, kim — we can’t wait to see you in action with IDA NexGen. 💖🎯
